Hi Lovebirds,

For this week’s edition of the LoveRotica Book Challenge I got a what? Yo! Gotta get a Roughneck! OK, so he isn’t exactly that kind of roughneck, but he will do. This one is by bestselling author, Shyla Colt.

Here’s what I think:

This was a quick read. I liked Ty right away. He was a stand up guy with good intentions. Maci was a young woman who lived a hard life. Her mom was the town drunk who Maci supported.

I thought it very unrealistic that Maci could afford to pay her bills, as well as her mom’s on a waitress’ salary. Her having $300 to spare at a moment’s notice was a bit far fetched.

I really disliked her mom and the boyfriend was a tool. Luckily, Ty was there for Maci when she needed him. I would have like to see more interaction between the two of them.
