Tell us about your work in the Love is Color Anthology.

Say That You Love Me is a Short Story about an interracial married couple he hit a rough patch. It is a micro short so it isn’t that long, but it is just enough to give you the jest of what is being talked about.

Who or what inspired the work(s)?

I had an idea from a poem I was going to write, but instead decided to do a story. I haven’t written poetry in years so I thought I would stick to what I currently do which is write stories. The hero in this story was inspired by actor Luke Evans and my heroine was inspired by Brittany Murphy.

What writer, poet or artist inspires you the most and why?

I honestly have many that I am inspired by. I would say Stephen King for he is my favorite author and I love the horror genre. Nicola Yoon for getting diverse books on the shelf for younger audiences. Beverly Jenkins for being a pioneer for romance featuring black characters and JK Rowling for her unstoppable drive.

What’s next for you?

Finish working on my first full length novel. I am doing many collaboration projects and anthologies this year. I plan to find an agent and finish my YA story as I will be adding that to under the genres I write.
